The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has cleared the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party, Mr. Joseph Ngozi Nkoro, to contest the 2019 gubernatorial election in Abia State.
Nkoro had during the
primary election of the YPP, held earlier October, 2018, emerged unopposed as governorship flag bearer of the party.
Addressing reporters on his mandate, the governorship hopeful said the electoral umpire had demonstrated its commitment to encourage the youths to occupy elective positions in the country.
Nkoro, who hailed from Eziukwu Nnentu in Aba South Local Government Area of the state, explained that his vision for the state included infrastructural and manpower development.
He said, “I will make the payment of workers salary and creation of jobs, a matter of urgent importance when elected as the Governor.
“I am calling on teeming youth population of the state to give me their support to enable me enthrone a government that would fight for the interest of the youths”.
Born on the May 17, 1982, Nkoro, is the youngest Governorship candidate challenging Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the 2019 gubernatorial election.
