Oxford Dictionary And Others Considers Including 'Buhari' As An English Word





A source in the Oxford University Press (OUP) publishing house, who pleaded to be anonimous has revealed to cjmikky that Oxford Dictionary is considering reviewing its policies on new word inclusion, which 'Buhari' is one of the numerous word to be deliberated upon. 

The source, however did not say when
Oxford plans to update its dictionary data base to include the famous 'Buhari' into its online and offline dictionary.
The source also added that: ”Oxford in its Language Matters Statements believes that many of these new words are uncommon, but each may be considered as part of modern English."


Word And Defitions To Consider 

Buhari/boo-ha-ree:/ noun: 1 Hard, hardship, difficult, harsh, tough; e.g "the economy is now Buhari for the masses"
Synonyms: Onerous, Strenuous, arduous, grueling, painful, hellish;
Antonyms: easy, smooth, simple, Verb: Buharify, buharificate, buharification
2. To make complex, worse, unbearable; e.g, please don't come and buharicate issues here, b the only way to reduce applicants is to buharify the process.
Synonyms: Complicate, exacerbate, degenerate, 
Adjective: buharific
3. Terrible, hectic, difficult
Synonyms: tough, back-breaking, intricate, knotty, Thorny;

The source continued: "For us, its not only about defining words or charting the history of English in Oxford English Dictionary (OED), we collect processes and analyse the living language and how its changing, its history, its usage, its relations with either languages and who's using it, from highbrow to slang."

 The source revealed that since Nigeria is in the forefront of the media now, and with their tyrant leader President Buhari which has received an accolades of insults resulting from his misfortune in leading the nation to the promise land.

Recall, last year 2015, when Buhari resumed duty as the president, Nigerians, especially in social media has been on his Naives, making all manner of caricature of their supposed 'moses'. 

Some have painted him to be a vampire in human form out to suck people blood, referring to the killings by some of his kinsmen, the herdsmen that has been on rampage and the mass killings of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB). Some have painted him to be a dog, some a pig, some said he is the devil who walketh about like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour-referring to Buhari's quest to tour round the world before the expiration of his 4year tenure, and as a result of his mandate from his political party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, to rid the country of corruption, which some perceived to be selective and a revenge mission.
