A Call To Nigerian Youths, The Future Belongs To Us

The future just like they say will always belong to the youths, but not in Nigeria. They have told us that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow, but in Nigeria, the reverse has remain the case.

Over the years, I've heard people say, mostly the youths, they shout in social media with all sorts of weak examples, when will the youths start
handling the affairs of this nation (Nigeria). Our fathers has bluntly and blatantly refuse to go away.

As I ponder on recent atrocities and the wide spread of crimes in our society, I ask myself, how did we get to this point? The wrong diagnosis will always result to wrong treatment. Nigerian youths are the problem of Nigeria and will always be until they learn that they are truly the leaders of tomorrow. How and why should these men step aside now or delegate responsibilities to the youths knowing fully well that they are not well mature for such responsibility?

Nigerian youths don't think about the future, they are always thinking about the 'now', how do we expect the center to hold when things continues to fall apart? Therefore, it behoves on us the youths to rise up and say to these old recycled bunch of aggrieved political leaders that enough is actually enough.

Without mincing words, and this is not a prophecy, it is the reality on ground, and until it is changed; until we change our attitude, I don't see the youths rising to critical positions in this country. If they ever get there by chance, there will be abuse of power, and these same process of old men ceasing power will continue and the next generation will wonder and ask same questions we ask now, why have the old men refused to leave power for the younger generation.

Borrowing a quote from Mnimmo Bassey in one of his article titled ''what can go wrong has gone wrong'', and just like the story of Esua and Jacob, Nigeria youths have sold their rights to be the leaders of tomorrow. Some will say the these old men are the problem of Nigeria, I beg to disagree, there are sicknesses or rather diseases with similar symptoms. I am not unaware of this, and am not disputing the fact that these leaders do not have or share a chunk of the problem facing Nigeria today, the truth be told, these men are the devil themselves, a man wishes for his children to rise above him, but these politicians have subjected the youths to the level of slavery by using their normal divide and rule approach. They use the youths for their dirty jobs in return for peanuts.

However, until the youths of Nigeria realizes that it is their future that is at stake and take the bull by the horn, these men even in their 80s and 90s will continue to rule over us.

From my observations of the way things are going and peoples way of thinking and actions, gross indiscipline is what has eaten up the youths. People make excuses, using the rate of poverty to justify their actions. So, in essence, we the youths of this great nation, we need to discipline ourselves, we need patience, we need to be contented with what we have and pray to God for our heart desires.

When we realise that it is our future that will be marred.
When we realize that power actually belongs to us.
When we realise not to cue behind these blood sucking demons that called themselves politicians.
When we realise that we are the ones to vote them in.
When we realise that they need us to get to where they are.
When we realise that good roads, potable drinking water, electricity and all other basic amenities are our fundamental rights.
When we realise that these men have been deceiving us for donkey years now.
When we realise that we are the ones to decide what happens in this nation.
Until we realise that the future belongs to us, it is then, and only then we will say to these die-hard political gladiators that enough is enough.

Resolution.

Let's stop cueing behind these men, because if we continue to cue behind them, they will not step aside for us to take the podium.
Let's not allow ourselves to be used as political thugs.
Let's not fight and kill each other for these men.

Despite our different cultures and beliefs, whether the country remains as one or we break up, the fact is that, we the youths, in our different regions, let us arise and stand for the truth. Let's have a right standing-for righteousness exalt a nation, but sin is a reproach...

We all have our dreams and aspirations, we all want to live big and drive big cars, by the help of God, we can and we will live our dream lives if we stop been a tool for destruction in the hands of these ungodly men. By 2017, the terrain will be rougher with so much money released into the society, and all these will be for their unending, unsatisfied and selfish interest for 2019 general election.

Let's unite as youths and fight these monsters that have sworn and refuses to leave politics. Politics is not a dirty game as been perceive by some youths, the fact that we have dirty people in politics doesn't make it a dirty game.

Finally, whether this present change continues, or they change the change by 2019, or the change that changed the change was changed by 2023, the fact remains sacrosanct, that decision to change lies solely in our hands.

God bless the youths of Nigeria
God bless the federal republic of Nigeria or our different republics if we decide to break up.
Peace!
