As I brood on the state of affairs, I am gradually coming to a conclusion that we are puppets in some experiment a group of powerful people must be keeping alive so they can learn a simple lesson: how not to be a nation.
Let me explain. This plane was constituted with the engine on the wings and the vertical stabilizer and rudder seated on the cockpit. That's just the simple way to make you understand the nature of the aircraft (See diagram below).
The hostess sits in the cockpit, the engineers parole the floor, while the pilots stand outside in the runway after servicing the engine that is run on water because the people prefer to drink and fight over the oil.
And everyone is wondering why it's refusing to take off. We have over exhausted all arguments. Experts have told us to put the parts and individuals in their right positions; even little kids can arrange this puzzle. We agree every time but whenever we wake up the next morning some new argument erupts. We've suddenly become like mad men in the market square.
In the cause of waiting with vain optimism some have died, others grown grew hairs, decided not to travel again, while others are changing mode of transport.
I scratch my head and something grey falls off. It took my grew hair for me to realise that this going back and forth will not end. It's not possible that we are still here after 56 years. Someone must be playing some game with us. ANIMAL FARM. How could I have been so stupid not to realise that the plane wasn't meant to fly in the first place? But to show the illustration of insanity and to somehow punish us for being so slow.
I look home and smile sadly as I see PDP, APC and other political parties fight against themselves and amongst themselves. The different tribes and religions fight fiercely against each other for power. I shake my head. They think it is real as nations and multinationals use it as dumping ground and experiment for new and failed products. They know our one vanity: we like make believe; drama and fantasy. We are the 3rd highest online shoppers in the world.
They know that if they want to get something all they need to do is throw a little controversy and we will fight amongst ourselves while they finish their operation in peace. Another vanity: We prefer to show our strength and supremacy than to be developed. They know we don't like ourselves.
Who are they? Who are they? You think I am insane to think there is a cartel controlling and experimenting with Nigeria? Well, I better be right because it is that conviction that keeps me sane.
You know what is worse? That we are doing these to ourselves. If this is the case then we're all insane and should be committed to the asylum.
Stop the political rascality. Stop the witch hunting. Stop the ethnic and religious craziness. Stoooop this madness. We are not enemies. The enemy is out there plying on our frailties. We are in this mess together.
Stop this madness. If we can't go forward with political parties, let's form a unity committee with the interest of the nation our only goal until things move in the right direction. And if we can't accept ourselves without putting ethnicity and religious craziness in front, let's negotiate a dissolution.
Yes, it will hurt so much because my dream is for us to be one. However, it's better to do either of these proposals now while we still have small control before these madmen experimenting with us turn this place to another Armageddon.
